The viola de Fado keeps the general shape of the classical guitar but with slight structural changes so it can withstand the tension of the steel strings it uses. This model is a high end one, handmade with a solid spruce top and solid rosewood back and sides.

Artimúsica was founded in 1992 and is dedicated to the artisanal construction of traditional Portuguese instruments. The traditional method of construction that even today forms the basis for this art of manufacture was initiated over 100 years ago by the master Joaquim José Machado. Currently, his descendants build each instrument as if it were a real work of art, making each chordphone unique, of high quality and enormously musical.
