The Amarantina or Amarante viola has a mouth in the shape of two hearts and is typical of the Douro Litoral region (historic province in the north of Portugal). It has 5 double strings orders with the two highest ones tuned in unison and the three lowest ones in octaves.

The Artimúsica VA80S Amarantine Viola is a simple model, with spruce top, sides and bottom in walnut simple and mahogany neck. The fingerboard is made of panga panga, which is used because it is very resistant and durable, and environmentally sustainable.

This model maintains the maximum of the traditional characteristics of this instrument, from conception to decoration. Noteworthy are the frets scaled over the body, and the characteristic decorative motifs: the mouth of two hearts, the easel worked, and the detail at the base of the body, with organic lines, full of meaning and beauty.

The two hearts symbolize the impossible love between a boy and a girl, forbidden by her parents. The boy built the viola with the two hearts that, although pointed to opposite sides, are united forever, giving voice to this instrument.
