Viola Amarantina APC VTR AMA 2 Hearts Spruce Walnut

The Amarantina or viola de Amarante has two hearts in the mouth and is typical of the Douro Litoral region (northern Portugal province). It has 5 orders of double strings, with the two highest pitched in unison and the three lowest in octaves.

It is one of the most relevant and recognized strings in the tradition of traditional Portuguese instruments.

The APC VTR AMA Amaranth Viola is a model with solid spruce top, walnut back and sides.

The viola de Amarante has a slightly smaller body than a classical guitar, but it allows the double strings to have a strong and consistent presence without losing the unique and brilliant tone.

APC was born in 1976 by the hand of António Pinto Carvalho, to specialize in the construction of cordophones. It was at the age of 10 that its founder began to learn the art of guitar and cavaquinho construction from his grandfather's hand. Today it is the largest national company in the industry, with about 50 employees, who give authenticity and a personal touch to each instrument, manufactured with the most advanced construction technology, for greater precision and accuracy.
