Description

The Artimúsica GP71L is a Portuguese fado guitar from Lisbon built with selected materials and a high quality sound.

The Artimúsica GP71L is a guitar built for Lisbon fado, with great attention to detail and great taste in its manufacture. Built by the experienced artisans of one of the biggest producers of traditional Portuguese instruments, the Artimúsica GP71L was finely crafted to be fingered by knowledgeable musicians.

Made with selected materials, the Artimúsica GP71L has a solid spruce top. The back and sides are in solid walnut in a combination of woods that gives it a rich tone, high quality volume and great definition.

The neck is in mahogany, very comfortable, and the fingerboard is in makassar ebony, a wood with great quality of touch. At the top of the neck we can see the snail-shaped volute, typical and identifying Portuguese guitars from Lisbon. The finishes are very well worked, with a decoration of excellent taste around the mouth, giving a touch of luxury to a guitar with great musical value.

The Portuguese guitar from Lisbon is the smallest of the three traditional fado guitars besides the Portuguese guitar from Porto and the Portuguese guitar from Coimbra. Of the three, it has the brightest sound, reinforced by the traditional tuning of Fado Lisboeta in Si-Lá-Mi-Si-Lá-Ré, starting from the highest pitches.

Founded in September 1992, Artimúsica is one of the leading brands in the artisanal construction of traditional Portuguese instruments. It is a family business, following the construction method started by master Joaquim José Machado, over 100 years ago.

His grandchildren, the masters Manuel Carvalho and José Carvalho, manufacture each instrument as if it were a true work of art, making each piece unique, of high quality, and full of tradition.

Artimúsica GP71L is a fado guitar from Lisbon that respects the tradition of this musical genre and the needs of the guitarists who dominate it, with a shine and musicality that could only be obtained in a national manufacturer with as much tradition in the construction of Portuguese guitars as Artimusic.

It is a rich instrument, full of tradition, to be played by musicians who have in their hands the passion of fado in the capital version.
