Bach Inventionen und Sinfonien 2 e 3 Part Inventions
The Inventions and Symphonies of Johann Sebastian Bach, also known as Inventions of two and three parts, were integral part of the teaching in the classes of piano of the composer. And they are still useful today! They continue to be an important tool for piano students, since their basic objectives, "learning to play in tune" and "playing in a singable style", are still valid.
This new edition of Wiener Urtext Edition consistently follows the faithful copy signed by Bach. There are ornate versions of Bach students, who provide insight into Bach's ornamentation, which were printed separately; mixing of different versions was deliberately avoided.
A suggestion is made by way of an example for performing the ornamental signs of Symphony No. 5. The notes on interpretation and critical observations provide information on other practical aspects of the performance. They should be considered as suggestions and encouragement to study works whose execution had not been established to the last detail, thus opening a wide range of creative possibilities for the teaching of these pieces.
