Designed in the traditional format of the Portuguese bandola, the construction of the Gewa Pro Arte Antique mandola is made entirely of solid wood. The top is in spruce (fir) and the bottom and sides are in maple. The pickguard is also made of wood and is built into the top.
The neck is also in maple and the fingerboard is in solid wood, with 17 frets in nickel silver. The tuning machines are Van Gest, made in Europe, with plastic buttons.
