Description

The Gretsch® G9126 guitalele sounds like a ukulele but plays like a guitar. Model from the Gretsch Roots Collection series.

Whether you want to transition from guitar to ukulele and vice versa, or just have the sound of this traditional Hawaiian instrument and use what you know about the guitar, the Gretsch® G9126 guitalele offers the best of these two instruments in a high quality model.

Gretsch created the Roots Collection to recover the style and spirit of acoustic instruments from times past, using modern manufacturing techniques to create timeless models in appearance and sound.

The Gretsch® G9126 guitalele is an excellent example of the effort of the American brand, being an instrument for musicians who do not like to be limited to conventional parameters.

The body of the Gretsch® G9126 is in the shape of a tenor ukulele, with a large box for greater resonance and presence. Made entirely of mahogany, with a finish that lets the natural texture of the wood stand out, it has a scale of 19 frets in ovangkol, an African wood similar to rosewood that shares many of its tonal characteristics, widely used for its acoustic properties and great sustainability environmental.

As the Gretsch® G9126 has six strings like a guitar but the tone of a four-string ukulele, the tuning is done from A bass to A treble at intervals equal to that of the guitar, making it perfect for guitarists who can apply logic and chords from your main instrument to this very original and fun instrument.

The guitalele, due to its dimensions, is ideal to start the youngest on the guitar or to take a trip, to have at hand in a festival tent or to practice and develop the technique of more advanced musicians. The different tuning opens interesting possibilities for the creation of new sounds in your music solo or together with traditional guitars.

Gretsch was born in 1883, in a small music store in Brooklyn, opened by a young German emigrant named Friedrich Gretsch, who mainly sold banjos, mandolins and percussion instruments. Today it is one of the most respected instrument brands in the music industry, being the favorite of some of the most influential musicians of recent decades.

For guitarists looking for new sounds or learning to play the ukulele, or ukulelists looking for more musical possibilities with extra strings, the Gretsch® G9126 guitalele guarantees quality and fun in an instrument made to last.
