The body of the Jackson JS2P Spectra Bass is solid poplar, with a poplar top for aesthetic effects, highlighting the wood knot details that gain a new aesthetic dimension with the high-gloss Blue Burst gradient finish, which ranges from blue to dark blue.
The body's offset design helps distribute weight evenly across the instrument, providing perfect balance and less strain on your back during longer playing sessions.
The neck is also maple, with a very comfortable profile. The 34-inch fretboard is in laurel, and the 24 jumbo frets provide speed, definition and comfort.
The Spectra Bass JS2P offers a unique sound for unique bassists and musicians who enjoy sonic versatility. Whether funk, hard rock or gospel, the Jackson J-style bridge pickup and P-style neck pickup deliver a range of punchy bass with distortion or clean tones, easily refined and adjusted with the mix, bass boost and volume controls.
They can switch between passive or active mode with the push/pull switch to bypass or activate the active circuit for bass boost. Just pull the volume knob to switch out of the active loop and into passive mode, which ensures you always sound great even if the battery fails.
Jackson started in the 1970s as a small guitar repair shop but quickly invaded the stages and MTV at the hands of hard rock and heavy metal artists. Some of the artists who signed Jackson models were Chris Broderick (Megadeth), Corey Beaulieu (Trivium), David Ellefson (Megadeth), Phil Collen (Def Leppard), Mark Morton, Phil Demmel (Machine Head), among others. Nowadays it is synonymous with quality instruments for versatile musicians who like to have a little more attack in their sound and an unmistakable style.
The Jackson JS2P Spectra Electric Bass meets all these requirements at a phenomenal price.
