Remo
Remo D Belli was a percussion pioneer. In 1957, he invented the first successful synthetic Mylar® heads, the industry standard today. For over 60 years, Remo, Inc. constantly and consistently broke new ground when it comes to innovations in the industry. Ultimately, when it comes to our expertise as a head maker, nothing can top the technical and musical advantages that Remo skins offer.
Remo's history began after the Second World War, when experiments were being carried out with Mylar®, a polyester film manufactured by DuPont®. At that time, Mylar® was used during wartime as heat-resistant film for night reconnaissance flights. The exceptionally durable, inexpensive and weather resistant material that provided previously unattainable tuning, tone and consistency intrigued Remo D Belli, an already successful professional drummer. Remo began his legacy with Weatherking® skins, the first commercially successful synthetic skin design.
